Used primarily for real estate deeds, trusts, and powers of attorney. You must appear in person and declare that you understand the document and signed it willingly. You can sign the document before I arrive, but you must confirm your signature with me directly.

Commonly required for affidavits, depositions, and legal pleadings. For a jurat, you must sign the document in my physical presence. I will then ask you to formally swear or affirm out loud that the contents of the document are completely true.
